FKK was established in 1952 for the purpose of developing the pre-stressed concrete (PC) technique and promoting its industrialization. At that time, PC method was an unknown and quite new technology. However, FKK has concluded the technical license agreement with Freyssinet (ex- S.T.U.P) of France, which was the holder of the original PC patents, and FKK has successfully industrialized/commercialized this method in Japan.
FKK has continuously conducted the research and development as well as market development of PC method, and in recent years, FKK has newly developed the technologies and products in responding to the needs from the market.
Those are the anchorages and stressing equipment specialized for the epoxy-coated pre-stressing strands, the plastic made (semi-transparent) grout caps, the anchorages applied to extra-dosed bridges, the anchorages for ultra high strength pre-stressing strands,the protection tubes for extemal cable systems, etc.
For securing safety and reliability&construction more over, FKK has thrown energies to train the field engineers of our sub-licensees in establishing a license system of“Freyssinet Technician”.
Consequently, with many of the patents and know how developed by FKK and also thanks to the supports from many related people, this FKK-Freyssinet method has been applied to a variety of fields such as bridges, buildings, large containments (LNGtanks, etc.), girders for monorail system, disaster preventive structures,etc.
